The New Allotment Site Fund is funding the creation of new allotment sites in England. The fund is overseen by the charity Green Allotments. The focus is on community-led management and environmental stewardship, to ensure a sustainable future for allotments.
The current priority is to create as many new allotment sites as possible. For this stage of the funding programme, we are likely to fund new allotment sites where the cost of land purchase is up to £50,000 per acre. You can learn more about The New Allotment Site Fund on the website.
How it works
• You can ask Green Allotments to fund and help create a new allotment site in your area. You must be passionate about allotments and willing to collaborate with Green Allotments to get a new site created in your area.
• Green Allotments will buy the land and create the new allotment site, providing new allotments for the community. Green Allotments will retain ownership of the new allotment site. This protects the allotments for the future.
• Please look for a piece of land before you contact them and tell them about this land. A guide is available on the Green Allotments website about how to look for land for allotments.
