John established Get Grants in 2012, to help charities and community groups better manage and understand their fundraising efforts. With over a decade experience in the Charity sector, John has a passion for supporting small grassroots community organisations, and this is reflected in the range of support and resources Get Grants offer.


Fundraising & Development Manager
Part of the Get Grants team since 2017, Katie works with charitable organisations to provide fundraising services and support, as well as driving forward our mission to respond to the needs of fundraisers across the sector.

Bid Writer
Nikki is a new recruit – having joined the team in May 2022. She fell into fundraising by accident after a ten year career as a midwife and then taking some time out to be a Mum. She has been working in the charity sector for 2 and a half years and is loving the opportunities at Get Grants to help the fantastic, Grassroots organisations in our society really shine and work to meet their goals.

Bid Writer
Katie joined the Get Grants team in 2023. With 10 years’ experience of working in the charity sector, Katie brings a wealth of knowledge in community and project development and more recently, community fundraising. She is passionate about supporting charities to sustain and develop their work, and to maximise their impact.

Charlotte Othen
Bid Writer
Charlotte joined Get Grants during October 2021. Charlotte has working in the charity sector for over 20 years, working in various areas such as events, marketing, relationship management, development and bid writing. Her goal is to help as many charities as possible seek the help, support and funding they need to deliver their projects and make a difference..

Andrew Ellison
Bid Writer & Trainer
With 7+ years’ experience in the voluntary sector, Andrew joined the team in September 2021 and is passionate about supporting charities and community groups to secure essential funding to deliver their amazing work. He also leads Get Grants training development and delivers our Bid Writing & Fundraising for Beginners training courses.

Training and Communications Officer
Miya joined Get Grants in February 2022. With a background in event management and marketing, she is able to use her transferable skills and knowledge to make sure that the Get Grants community are kept updated and informed about the great work that Get Grant does for the fundraising community.
Meet the Experts

With over ten years experience, Michelle has worked in charities spanning faith, international development and arts and heritage. She has worked with some of the biggest philanthropic families in the UK and US, and it is this first-hand experience that she brings to our Major Donor Fundraising Course, Storytelling for Fundraising Corporate Fundraising and Management for Fundraisers Training Course – taking any fundraiser from mediocre to extraordinary

Rosie has 9 years’ experience of working in the charity sector, in both large and small charities. Rosie shares her expertise in building relationships directly with donors through our Developing your Individual Giving Course, Developing a Fundraising Strategy, Using Data to Increase Fundraising Success Course and Community Fundraising.

Hayley has 13 years’ experience as a fundraiser and bid writer, of which 10 have been in the voluntary sector for well-known charities. With significant experience in managing and developing relationships with trusts and foundations, Hayley brings this expertise to Get Grants Trusts and Foundations Course.

Emma Bryant MInstF (Dip) is a freelance charity consultant, trainer, and speaker specialising in digital fundraising and marketing. Emma brings this expertise to Get Grants Digital Fundraising Training Course.

Sam has been involved with sport and physical activity for a number of years, through Local Authority and Active Partnership sports programmes. Sam shares her knowledge when delivering our Bid Writing for Sports & Physical Activity Workshop.
