What the Workshop offers
The Bid Writing Workshop aims to benefit fundraisers with all levels of experience looking to hone their grant fundraising skills, as well as those who are looking to write their first application and don’t know where to begin. Through the two-hour workshop attendees are supported to:
- Unpick the grant fundraising process;
- Ensure their organisation has the right things in place to have fundraising success;
- Discover how to find funding opportunities and decide which funds are right for them;
- Learn tactics for arguing the need for their project;
- Create a grant-fundraising action plan.
This workshop is delivered in a single 2-hour online session via zoom. The Workshop is open and conversational, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

About the Trainer
Sam Davis has been involved in sport since she was 5 years old starting at gymnastics, before being told she was too tall by 8! Sam’s passion for sport and physical activity has led her into a career which has involved her working at multiple leisure centres, an elite sports club, a Local Authority, an Active Partnership and being involved in University sport.
Sam loves helping people see and feel the benefits of being active, and believes that there is an activity for everyone! During lockdown, Sam found a new passion of doing dance workouts to Disney music, which is her new favourite thing.
Over the last few years, Sam has dipped her toe into the world of funding, writing bids for small organisations, and supporting big organisations secure large grants to deliver community projects – and she finds them all exciting to be a part of.
