This course will give you expert insights into the benefits of event fundraising, as well as covering a practical approach to identifying your target audience, event planning, project management, reducing risks, and the Codes of Fundraising Practice.
During the course, you will look at the different types of event fundraising (from challenge events to mass participation events), with lots of examples and case studies, to help you choose the fundraising events that work for your organisaiton.
With lots of friendly support and top tips, you will leave the course with the motivation and confidence to develop your organisation’s events fundraising income stream!
This online course is delivered via Zoom, across two lots of 2-hour sessions, leaving some time in between for a practical activity and to read further course material and reflect on the information given.

- Identify your target market for events.
- Develop a working understanding of different types of fundraising events, their advantages and disadvantages, and chose which type of event is best for your organisation.
- Build confidence in planning and budgeting your fundraising events.
- Explore risk management and project management tools.
- Understand the Codes of Practice and what you need to be aware of before you start.
- Explore the potential of digital to boost success and return on investment
- Develop a ‘toolkit’ of activities to boost income raised from events.
Our Events Fundraising Training Course sessions are open and conversational, with a mix of group work and individual tasks, offering a friendly and relaxed environment with plenty of opportunities to ask questions throughout the sessions.

About the Trainer
Jenna Wills has held senior roles in a variety of local, regional, national and international charities. She believes she has the best job in the world – helping good causes to succeed.
With experience spanning a variety of income streams, Jenna’s biggest passion is events fundraising. From her wealth of hands-on experience, Jenna understands the challenges – and opportunities – for event fundraisers.
Whilst working as Mass Participation Events Manager for Action for Children, Jenna developed a portfolio of challenge events that raised a record-breaking amount for the charity. Jenna has also worked on Oxfam’s International Women’s Day event, and Oxjam, Oxfam’s month-long music festival.
Jenna is Director of Finding Starfish Fundraising Consultancy, as well as an Associate Consultant for Wootton George Consulting, Home-Start UK, and sits on a Regional Grants Award panel for Comic Relief.
