The Will Charitable Trust offers grants of £3,000 – £30,000 to UK registered charities that provide services/care for blind people, people with learning disabilities, and cancer sufferers. In order to be eligible for funding your charity must have an annual turnover of at least £50,000.
Projects must focus on one of the Trust’s three key areas. If your project will work with blind people or the prevention or cure of blindness you will have most success if your charity exists primarily for work with blind or visually impaired people. Projects in this area may have beneficiaries in the UK or abroad.
For projects working with people with learning disabilities, you must be able to support individuals over a significantly long period. Examples could include residential care or supported living schemes. Trustees will occasionally consider charities providing day or employment services but will not support schools or colleges. Projects in this area are not eligible if they have beneficiaries outside of the UK.
For projects working with cancer suffers and their families, you are most likely to succeed if your charity’s principle objective is to work in this area.
