The Elephant Trust offers grants to artists in the visual arts, small organisations and galleries throughout the UK. The Trust generally awards grants to small organisations and galleries in particular for projects where there is a lack of funding available.
The Trust was set up in 1975 to make it possible for artists and those presenting their work to undertake and complete projects when frustrated by lack of funds. It is committed to helping artists and art institutions/galleries that depart from the routine and signal new, distinct and imaginative sets of possibilities.
Priority is given to artists in the fine arts and small organisations and galleries. Available grants are usually limited to £2,000, but larger grants up to £5,000 may be considered. Successful applicants should leave a minimum of two years before re-applying.
Applications are via the trust’s online portal. Details of deadlines and further information can be found on the website.
