The Greggs Foundation is the grant making charity closely associated with Greggs PLC, who donate at least 1% of annual profits to the foundation each year
The Foundation offers grants in three key areas, which support charitable organisations, schools and individuals respectively. They are as follows:
The Community Action Fund
Eligible organisations can receive a core costs grant of £20,000 per year, for up to three years.
Organisations must be not-for-profit and based in one of the funder’s geographical focus areas. These change from round to round and are published on their website and social media. Priority is given to organisations in geographical areas located near to a Greggs Outlet or in the North East of England.
Applications must focus on one of the following:
- Addressing direct needs in the local community
- Providing food and support for individuals
- Reducing social isolation and widening networks
- Building knowledge, confidence and opportunities
The fund opens 4 times per year, with details announced on the funder’s website and applications via an online form.
Feeding Brighter Futures
Greggs have been supporting School Breakfast Clubs since 1999 and now support a network of 1,000 schools and 75,000 children every day. The programme is expanding in 2026 to pilot offering funding for breakfast clubs, after school clubs and holiday club provision, and focusing on providing children with equal access to extracurricular opportunities to enhance their school experience. Schools in the network are supplied with termly cash grants so that they can choose the right mix of food and activities for their pupils.

Relief Grants
Relief Grants help individuals and families through periods of unexpected difficulty, providing help to ease financial strain and restore hope when it’s needed most. It’s a way to help with rising or unexpected costs, lessen the impact of sudden illness or unemployment – or offer support when it’s a struggle to make ends meet.
Applications are ONLY accepted via schools in the Feeding Brighter Futures network or referral partners pre-approved by the Greggs Foundation. Application’s cannot be made by individuals.
