The True Colours Trust is a grant making charity that supports causes in the UK and Africa, with a focus of offering grants to small organisations.
The Trust has a number of grant programmes (giving out a total of around £2million per year), however only two of these are open for unsolicited applications: Small Grants UK and Small Grants Africa programmes.
This programme offers grants of up to £10,000 to registered charities and CICs with an income less than £350,000.
The Trust will consider organisations working with children and young people aged from 0 – 25 years with a focus on disabled children or children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Projects:
• Activities for children and their families
• Activities which support siblings
• Bereavement support
• Family support / parent-led peer support
• Respite which supports the whole family.
Equipment and Materials:
- Hydrotherapy pools
- Sensory rooms.
- Minibuses
- Specialised play equipment/access to play and leisure
Applications for UK Small Grants can be made by online form or a Microsoft Word version of the form.
The Small Grants Africa programme offers grants of up to projects that focus on the delivery of palliative care in Africa.
Most grants are awarded to small, locally-based organisations which are improving the standard of palliative care in their communities.
Priority is given to projects in the following areas:
All applications must address one or more of the following primary priority areas:
Medicines, Equipment for palliative care, Transport, Data or mobile technology, and Bereavement support.
In addition, applications may address any of the following secondary priority areas:
Training for care workers, food for palliative care patients, home-based palliative care, psychosocial or spiritual support for patients and their families, rehabilitation, Core costs (up to a maximum of £750 per application).
