Yapp Charitable Trust is a grant-making charity which supports existing charities in England and Wales to help make grants for running costs and salaries to sustain their existing work.
Yapp Charitable Trust offers grants to registered charities who have a total annual expenditure of less than £40,000 and are working with the Trust’s priority groups, which are:
- Elderly People
- Children and young people aged 5 – 25
- People with physical impairments, learning difficulties or mental health challenges
- Social welfare – people trying to overcome life limiting problems of a social, rather than medical origin (such as addiction, relationship difficulties, abuse, offending)
- Education and learning (with a particular interest in people who are educationally disadvantaged, whether adults or children
The Trust only make grants for core funding, which they define as the cost associated with regular activities or services which are ongoing for at least a year.
Charities applying have to have been established for a minimum of three years. Newly registered charities can apply as long as they have an appointed management committee and adopted a governing document at least three years ago.

Trustees meet 3 times per year to consider applications and a decision time can take up to 5 months from the date of submission.
