Many large companies have their own community funds, and Aviva is one of them. Over the last few years they have hosted the community fund for brokers and have extended it to a national level so community and charities can now apply.
Aviva have 4 funding levels ranging from up to £1,000 up to £25,000 and these have to fall into the following 4 categories:
- Health, disability and wellbeing
- Supporting the younger generation
- Supporting the older generation
- Community Support
Aviva is keen to fund projects that are solely based in the UK and will have a long-term impact for the community. The application process is essentially a national competition, which sees members of the general public vote for their favourite projects which will then see the most popular organisations going on to provide further information on their project. This will then go towards deciding which organisations will receive funding, with the application process seemingly fairly complicated so it’s not for the fainthearted!
There is a whole host of information on their website, which is where you can also find the application, details of when the programme is open, and more details on eligibility criteria and ideas for projects.
