This fund helps children who experience inequity and/or have disabilities to go on fun trips. It funds schools, youth groups, and non-profit organisations planning one-time trips for children aged 13 and under, prioritising fun and new experiences, such as camping, adventure activities, or visits to the seaside.
In 2024, 60% of the grants were given to organisations working in areas in the top 20% of deprivation within the four nations of the UK (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales).
The eligibility criteria is fairly straightforward, with the funding open to outings within the UK for children aged 13 and under and must be outside the children’s immediate locality. The groups able to apply are:
- Schools
- Youth groups
- Not-for-profit organisations
- Registered charities
The grant scheme offers grants between £500-£2,750 and they are able to fund day-trips as well as residential trips up tp 7 days but trips to high cost attractions like theme parks are less likely to be funded.
The grant scheme has a relatively simple application form which can be found on the website where details of grant deadline and corresponding project dates, and further information is available in regards to what documents are needed to support an application and where to send it to.
