From 2020-2025 the Severn Trent Community Fund will give away £10 million to support local projects, charities (including exempt charities e.g. schools) and community groups in the Severn Trent region. Funding decisions will be overseen by a panel of Severn Trent water company customers, who will review applications on a quarterly basis.
New Projects are funded under three main themes:
- People: Projects that help people to gain new skills or improve their lives
- Places: Projects that help to create better places to live in and use
- Environment: Projects that help to look after the natural environment, improve access to nature or help look after water
There are three sizes of grant that you can apply for:
- £2,000 to £10,000
- £10,001 to £75,000
- £75,001 to £250,000
In order to apply for above £10,000, your organisation must either be a Registered Charity, or a Registered Company with Companies House.
In addition to the above, the Severn Trent Community Fund will have a strong interest in projects that have a connection to the water cycle. This could include projects that will create sustainable drainage, install water recycling systems or create water efficient green spaces.
Core Funding grants of £5,000–£20,000 are available to groups that offer essential services to local residents, especially those supporting the most vulnerable – helping to improve wider community wellbeing. The aim is to help groups who urgently need financial support to continue existing delivery.
Core funding is open in 2 funding windows annually, May and November, each for 1 month.
Full details about each of the 2 funding programmes, including eligibility criteria are available on the company’s website.
