The ACT Foundation has the overall aim of enhancing the quality of life for people in need, doing so through grants to both individuals and charities.
In doing this the Foundation priorities the following areas:
- People with physical and mental disabilities
- the aged and those in need
- Young Carers
ACT offer grants of a wide variety of sizes, from small £500 on-off grants to significant support over multiple years. They state that grants over £100,000 are particularly rare. Grants are predominantly given for building costs, equipment and respite care, further descriptions of these areas can be found on the website.
The Foundation only accepts applications from registered Charities, and you need to have been registered for a minimum of three years.
There is no formal application form with the Foundation requesting that applications are made in the form of a letter that must be written on company headed paper. Included in all applications must be a cashflow projection for the work, details of any income already raised and a copy of your latest annual report and accounts.
