About the Trainers

David Page has been a fundraiser for more than two decades and specialises in working with small charities that are disproportionately affected by financial challenges. He has built a wealth of experience on how to survive, flourish and grow when resources seem scarce. David is the Director of Triceratops Training, and has provided training for many organisations including the FSI, DSC and Chartered Institute of Fundraising.

Sam Davis brings first-hand experience from all corners of the sector – as a fundraiser, funder, and charity leader – having delivered frontline activities as well as infrastructure support to other organisations. Alongside delivering Get Grants Bid Writing and Bid Writing for Sports & Physical Activity Training Courses, Sam is currently the Operations Manager at a major regional funder. Her previous roles include CEO, Community Partnerships Manager, and Development Officer within both charitable and statutory organisations.
She’s also a Trustee of a Birmingham-based sports charity and is passionate about building sustainability and resilience in the non-profit sector – because really, it should be a no-brainer to fund these amazing organisations!
Outside of work, Sam’s a passionate netballer and keeps those endorphins flowing by running (very slowly!) in her spare time.

Andrew Ellison has 10+ years’ experience in the voluntary sector, principally working in fundraising, including 3 years as a sole fundraiser for a London-based homeless charity.
He has worked for charities of all sizes supporting a range of causes including mental health, medical research, youth, international development work and sports. Andrew holds a Fundraising Qualification from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (CiOF). He has previously volunteered at Foundation Against Cancer, St Mungo’s, ScotsCare, Projects Abroad. He is also a career mentor at Heriot-Watt University.
Andrew is a Bid Writer at Get Grants, supporting organisations to develop their grant funding portfolio, as well as leading Get Grants Training development and delivering Fundraising for Beginners Training Course.
